Plywood Adhesives
TOA Dovechem manufacture a wide a range of adhesives, catalysts, catchers and other auxiliaries for all types of plywood, including structural and flooring. Our ready for use adhesives have been developed commercially for over 30 years. TOA Dovechem’s adhesive technology helps plywood producers to manufacture the highest quality product able to meet the following certifications: WBP (weather and boil proof) for various jurisdictions, JAS JPIC-EW SE00-01 for concrete forming/structural plywoods and ASNZ (Australian/New Zealand Standards) 2269 for A bond structural/non structural plywoods. Our adhesive solutions are able to achieve E1, E0 and Super E0 formaldehyde emission standards or equivalents.
TOA Dovechem’s adhesives are highly cross linked thermosetting polymers, comprising of bonds between urea, formaldehyde, melamine and/or phenol. Our range of urea-formaldehyde, melamine-urea-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde adhesives are multipurpose and have proven to be the most cost effective wood binding system. Urea based systems are known for its high cure speed under high temperature and acidic conditions, while melamine based systems enhance the strength and durability of the plywood. Phenol formaldehyde adhesives provide the plywood with excellent water resistant properties and are thus used in exterior applications.
